A safety seminar was held at Wapda House Peshawar under aegis of Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco), aimed at to create awareness among technical staff. The 22nd January declared as "Safety Day" a safety seminar was also arranged at Wapda House Peshawar. Chief Executive Pesco Engineer Dr, Muhammad Amjad Khan, Safety Instructor Saqib Majeed, Additional Chief Engineer safety Mian Zahid Qayum, all Superintendent Engineers and technical staff attended the seminar.

Speakers while addressing stressed that the fatal accidents could be avoided by implementing and adopting all precautionary measures including safety rules and regulations. They said that it is essential to take PTW (Permit to work) and also ensure electricity were suspended. Pesco technical staff is providing best services to consumers in rainy season and hot weather and in difficult situation. Several Line Men sacrificed their lives while performing their duty. In the period 1st July 2018 to update 9 Pesco's linemen died while 9 hurt seriously, working on lines. Pesco paid about Rs.10 Million to these died and hurt Officials as compensation.

Chief Executive Pesco Engineer Dr Muhammad Amjad Khan while addressing to the participants said, "We have to adopt strict rules of safety. Safety must be given top priority to avoid electrocution and electric shocks for their own safety".
